Topspin Cyberpower

We’ve been getting really good feedback from people trying out Cyberflash and we’ve also got some similar string called Cyberpower. Some of the feedback from first time poly users using Cyberflash were impressed by how the strings don’t move as much as synthetic gut and its impressive spin potential/durability. So if you like Cyberflash and want a colour change, give Cyberpower a go also!
N.B. Topspin have renamed Cyberpower to Cyberblue…which explains the different packaging.

Topspin Cyberflash

We have just received a shipment of Topspin Cyberflash 1.20mm. This relatively thin gauge string can produce excellent spin and power without sacrificing too much durability. We are currently playing with this string and would recommend it to heavy hitters of topspin and pace since it is a little stiff. The string is a silver/grey colour and would complement the aesthetics of any racquet. Book your racquet for this string job today!

Griffith Clay Court Tournament

My brother and I participated in the Griffith MIA Clay Court Tournament with our good friends, Dylan and Kristen. We had quite an enjoyable weekend and some priceless tournament experience. I was a bit hesitant to bring the stringer along but we were all mistaken when a few desperate people needed restrings. Dylan broke a set of Signum PPP on a shank, Andrew on a shank, Aiden - clean breakage on the mains and Mark to replace a non-lively stringbed of Luxilon Big Banger ALU. We are all looking forward to the next big tournament, next time I’ll be super prepared for stringing and my game!

String Breakage

String breakages can occur from a lot of different circumstances. If you hit with a lot of spin (any type) you will tend to break strings faster than people who hit flatter balls. Another common one is through a shank. Off centre hits stress the string against the grommets of your racquet. The extreme force against the plastic forces it to break, just like what happened to a relatively fresh set of Signum Pro Poly Plasma on my Wilson npro-open.

Feedback: Head Flexpoint Tennis String

I’ve finally had the chance to have more hits with this particular string. I had it strung as a full set in a Wilson nsix-two and also as a hybrid setup with Signum Pro Poly Plasma (1.23) as mains. The string itself was stretchy and soft at first touch, but out on court it felt pretty durable and I got a lot of feel. The only thing I don’t particularly like about multifillament strings or synthetic strings for that matter, is how the string bed moves. Everyone has seen Lleyton Hewitt readjusting his strings after every point right? Well I guess it boils down to preference and if it works for the pros, it must work for everyone else!

The hybrid setup was half as better as the full setup (according to deduction right?). Just kidding. I got the power I needed but I still got the soft feeling when striking the ball. I guess there is no turning back from my current setup of Signum Pro Poly Plasma…excellent tension holding and barely any string movement. It makes me wonder why the pro’s don’t use it.
